Tibits to open second UK restaurant

Following the successful Heddon Street site, acclaimed Swiss vegetarian restaurant chain, Tibits is to open a second site south of the river on Bankside.

Based near to Tate Modern, the new restaurant will have a 'food boat' (pictured), as well as some new dishes.

Tibits Bankside will open next month and will also offer a takeaway option.

Tibits offers a completely vegan and vegetarian menu, with over 40 homemade vegetarian and vegan salads, hot dishes, soups, freshly pressed juices and desserts.

Breakfast options include homemade bircher muesli, chilled pancakes, a cereal selection, croissants and fresh fruits. Main dish examples include Spring Leek & Carrot Stew, Creole Jambalaya, Kim Chi, Curry & Coconut Udon, and Marinated Silken Tofu.

To accompany the dishes, there is a full wine and aperitif list and cocktail list.

Founded in 2000, the chain operates nine restaurants in Switzerland and launched in the UK in 2008.

Tiibits was created by three brothers Christian, Daniel and Reto Frei who enlisted the help of Rolf and Marielle Hiltl, owners of the legendary and oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world, Haus Hiltl in Zurich.
