Thai Square Putney launches new innovative menu

It was voted as having the third best restaurant view in the UK, now acclaimed south west London favourite, Thai Square is to launch a new menu of innovative dishes to complement its stunning views.

Packed with aromatic flavours and exquisitely presented on specially commissioned handcrafted plates, the collection has been created by recently appointed executive chef Parichat Sanguthai (or Oula as she is known), formerly executive chef of the Blue Elephant, in association with the Thai Square group’s executive chef.

Sanguthai, whose teaching skills have taken her around the world, from Galeries Lafayette in Paris to the Mo¨venpick Hotel Zurich, is known for her skills in blending western and eastern culinary influences to create twists on classic dishes.

Among the standouts that will be making their way onto the menu at Thai Square Putney Bridge from June are starters of the calibre of Grilled Scallops with Garlic Butter & Peppercorn and Duck Salad with Longan - a juicy, sweet tropical fruit that contrasts wonderfully with the richness of the meat.

Main courses are equally as impressive. A green curry is raised to heady heights thanks to the use of succulent lobster tail, whilst truffles make an unusual but delicious complement to a dish of noodles and prawns. Other standouts include Lamb Rack with Basil, Grilled Black Cod with Chilli Jam and a light-as-a-feather Lychee Mousse.

As with everything here, Sanguthai’s new creations combine the finest locally sourced produce with authentic ingredients that are flown over from Thailand each week.

Although the entire menu is being refined, Thai Square Putney Bridge will continue to showcase signature dishes like the celebrated Yum Nua (beef salad) and Soft-shell Crab with Mango that have seen diners flock to this corner of London since the restaurant opened six years ago.

With almost every table commanding exceptional views, Thai Square Putney Bridge promises a unique dining and drinking experience at any time of the year. However, it is in the summer that it really comes into its own, as the restaurant’s huge windows open up to the river below and the 40-cover riverside terrace offers the perfect spot for al fresco dining.

With the fine dining area located upstairs, the ground floor houses the spacious and vibrant TSQ bar. The ideal location for a pre-dinner cocktail with friends and colleagues - the signature Bangkok Dangerous with its combination of homemade infused lemongrass vodka, ginger vodka and fresh lychees is particularly recommended - it can also be hired in its entirety for a private events space without parallel.

From 1 June until 15 June, Thai Square Putney Bridge will be holding a soft launch period, whereby anyone quoting 'New Executive Menu' on booking will receive 50% off any of the Executive Menu.

Thai Square Putney Bridge is open Monday to Friday, 12 noon to 3pm and 6pm to 11pm and Saturday and Sunday, 12 noon to 11.30pm (10.30pm on Sunday).
