Trinity Leeds creates artisan gin to celebrate UK’s largest gin & vodka festival

To celebrate the UK’s largest gin and vodka festival, which takes place in Yorkshire this weekend, Trinity Leeds has created and bottled its own gin with the help of a local artisan gin producer.

A limited edition, 200-bottle run of ‘Ginity Leeds’, which was blended using ingredients voted for by social media users in the city, will be launched at the festival, the largest of its kind in the UK, on Saturday. It will then go on sale, with all proceeds being donated to charity.

Social media users were asked to nominate flavours that best represented Trinity Leeds, with apple, cinnamon, pear and star anise receiving the most public votes.

The four flavours were blended with gin recipe favourites – juniper, coriander seeds, angelica, root and cardamom – by Sara Birkinshaw at artisan gin producer, Leeds Gin, based in the city.

Visitors to the Gin & Vodka Festival at Trinity Kitchen this weekend will be able to sample the limited edition tipple alongside 80 other gins and a further 40 vodkas at the sold-out event.

Dan Wharton, Marketing Manager at Trinity Leeds, said: “The Gin & Vodka festival is now a firm favourite in the city’s social calendar and to celebrate the fact we’re hosting it in Trinity Kitchen for the first time this year, we wanted to do something to add our own flavour.

“With such a top class gin producer here in Leeds, we approached them to help design a recipe for us.

“We took flavour suggestions from Facebook polls, resulting in four ingredients which Leeds Gin then blended using gin staples to create a hand-crafted batch.

“We hope ‘Ginity Leeds’ will go down well and help us raise funds which we’ll distribute to charities at the end of the year.”
