Iconic Finchley pub reopens after £750k investment

The popular and iconic Tally Ho pub in Finchley has reopened after a £750k refurbishment by new owners Stonegate Pub Company, securing fifty-three jobs at the flagship site.

Paul Mulcrone, the pub's manager, said, “Finchley has regenerated so time for the 90-year-old Tally Ho to make sure all three floors of the beautiful landmark offer the diversity to appeal to our varied customer base.”

For the first time in over twenty years, music and sports has been reintroduced whilst the middle storey is styled for relaxing and dining, and the ‘Bolt Hole’ becomes a refined upper floor with the added extra of sports viewing.

Mulcrone added, 'We’re opening to a new market whilst retaining loyal customers.”

A pub renowned for real ale, the legacy continues with national treasures and local brews from the likes of New River and Tring. Cask cider and craft beers Blue Moon and Punk IPA join a copious range of gins and wines.

The ‘Kings Feast’ food menu, offers over 100 combinations of quality dishes from sharing planks to traditional fish & chips, fourteen options in the two meals for £8.99 and dishes under 600 calories. The ‘man vs food’ burger challenge is set to create some theatre with four 6oz beef burgers, cheese and bacon, chicken schnitzel and chorizo served with double chips!

Diners and drinkers can enjoy Monday Poker, Tuesday cask night, Wednesday rock ‘n’ roll bingo, Thursday quiz, Friday fizz and cocktail evening, Saturday sport and relax, Sunday family and sports.

Stonegate Pub Company bought The Tally Ho, one of JD Wetherspoon’s original pubs, expelling fears that its days servicing the local community were over.
