D&D London celebrates three milestone birthdays

This autumn marks a season of celebration in D&D London’s history, with three of its restaurants reaching a landmark anniversary. Cantina del Ponte commemorates its 25th birthday this September, whilst Orrery (pictured) celebrates its 20th in October, and Kensington Place heralds 30 years in the business this November.

For a quarter of a century, riverside restaurant Cantina del Ponte has offered London diners traditional Italian fare on the bank of the River Thames with panoramic views across the City.

To celebrate its 25th birthday this September, the restaurant will honour its roots with a new offering inspired by the original 1992 menu. Head Chef Angelo Albera has recreated Cantina’s classic dishes in his own style, with a key ingredient remaining – the 1992 price tag - starting at just £4.50 for starters, £8.50 for mains and £3.50 for desserts.

The three-course menu will change weekly, featuring dishes such as Insalata tricolore and Bresaola e caprine (Beef bresaola, rocket and goat’s cheese), Spaghetti all carbonara and Risotto al radicchio e salsiccia (risotto radicchio and sausage).

Meanwhile, for twenty years, Marylebone stalwart, Orrery, has been providing its diners with elegant French cuisine and exemplary service. To celebrate its 20th birthday, a launch party will be held on the restaurant’s leafy rooftop terrace on the 11th October.

Chef Patron Igor Tymchyshyn has also created an exclusive 4 course menu available throughout the month, which will feature favourites dishes from over the years. The festivities will go beyond the food menu, with a curated list of Orrery’s 20 favourite wines, and 20 favourite cheeses from over the years on offer from the famed cheese trolley.

It is Notting Hill’s Kensington Place, however, which celebrates the biggest milestone with its 30th anniversary in November. Opened as the first modern British Brasserie in London, new Head Chef Arnold Ivey has curated a special menu to honour the restaurant’s history and centred around the seasonal British seafood for which it is known.

For the first two weeks of November, Kensington Place will be offering their luxurious shellfish platter (which features; langoustines, oysters, mussels, as well as razor and palourde clams) with two glasses of prosecco.
