Marstons plans hotel behind existing Norfolk pub

Pub, hotel and brewery giant, Marston’s is planning to build a 27-room hotel and five retail units on Park Road, Diss in Norfolk.

The new hotel will be situated behind Marston's The Thatchers Needle pub (pictured), which opened in October 2013, and plans have been submitted to South Norfolk Council.

The two-storey hotel has been designed with a pitched roof, and the 27 en-suite rooms would be split across both floors and fitted with disabled access.

In total, 153 car parking spaces would be created for the hotel, retail units and The Thatchers Needle - an increase from the current 71 spaces.

Brands have yet to be identified for the five units, although one unit is expected to be primarily used for food sales.
