Kent village pub changes hands

Grade II listed pub, The Kings Arms in the East Kent village of Elham, has been sold off a leasehold guide price of £115k through Christie & Co.

Elham is situated in the heart of the North Downs and within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The quaint rural pub with 66 covers and a large trade garden has been operating under the ownership of Anthony and Rose Willcox for the past 13 years, who have built up an enviable reputation and loyal following in the local area, are now looking forward to retiring from the sector and handing over the reins to local first time operators, Andy and Sarah House.

James Hughes, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Maidstone office who handled the sale, commented, “I was delighted to facilitate the transaction and wish Andy and Sarah all the best with their new venture. I am sure the local community will make them feel very welcome and that the business will continue to flourish for many years to come.

“This sale continues to demonstrate demand from buyers for good quality hospitality businesses in the South East and we anticipate this demand to continue, making it a great time for pub owners in the region to sell.”
