Villandry falls into administration

London restaurant brand, Villandry has had to shut its two venues as further investment was not forthcoming.

The company, which is headed up by former Le Pain Quotidien director, Philippe Le Roux, has called in administrators from BDO after it failed to find a buyer.

A statement posted to Villandry’s website said: “Martha Thompson and Sarah Rayment of BDO LLP were appointed joint administrators of Villandry Restaurant Foodstore Limited (‘the Company’) on 9 August 2018. The affairs, business and property of the Company are now being managed by the Joint Administrators.”

The two Villandry restaurants were in Great Portland Street and St. James' (pictured). There had also been a Villandry at Biscester Village, near Oxford, which closed last year.

Hush owner Jamie Barber had sold his two Villandry restaurants to Le Roux in May 2011.
