Friends of Ham sold out of administration

Friends of Ham Ltd has been sold out of administration by Poppleton & Appleby to Glentrool, securing the future of 34 jobs at its bars in Ilkley and Leeds.

However, the Ham & Friends loft bar and restaurant, trading from Merrion Street in Leeds, from Ham & Friends Ltd, set up by Friends of Ham founders Anthony and Claire Kitchin, ceased trading on 5 August.

The site was reopened as Lucky No 7 under Friends of Ham Ltd.

Friends of Ham Ltd tweeted to clarify the easily confused situation: 'Thanks to everyone for the kind words today. Just to be clear following a bit of misreporting and assumptions in the press - we are still trading and open for business and intend to be for many years to come.'

The two Friends of Ham bars serve up artisan charcuterie and cheese platters, all of which can be washed down with craft beers.
