New head chef & restaurant manager for £1.2m revamped Liverpool hotel

Liverpool's Suites Hotel & Spa has announced the launch of its new culinary chapter following a recent £1.2m refurbishment.

The award-winning venue, located in Knowsley, has welcomed on board a duo of appointments in the form of Head Chef Robbie Cardwell (pictured) and Restaurant Manager Adrian Howard.

In line with company developments, the in-house Handley’s Brasserie’s has also unveiled its new food menu, comprising a variety of unique dishes with a Mediterranean twist.

Managing Director Lyndsay Stanistreet-Tyer said, “Since the completion of our refurbishment earlier this year, the team and I have been working tirelessly to further add to the hotel’s offering. In order to position ourselves as a drinking and dining destination within its own right in the Knowsley area, we have welcomed to the team a duo of industry figures to bring our in-house Handley’s Brasserie and Bollinger Bar firmly up to date and in line with our four-star hotel and spa.

“Our in-house eateries appeal to both hotel residents and non-residents alike, so as part of our restaurant update, we’ve looked at how to streamline and simplify the process of dining with us. Following customer feedback, we have recently introduced an online booking portal as part of our new website, where not only can guests quickly and easily book a stay with us, they can make dinner reservations at the click of a finger.”

Menu highlights include Tandoori Chicken Supreme served with Spiced Dahl, Saffron Potatoes, Chicken Samosa & Minted Yoghurt, Pan-Fried Red Snapper on a bed of Rice Noodles, Stir-Fried Vegetables, Coconut, Chilli & Coriander Broth and Cauliflower Cheese Risotto with Charred Cauliflower, Cauliflower Fritter Parmesan Crisp & Curry Oil to name a few.

Cardwell, who has previously cooked up a storm at the likes of Crown Plaza Liverpool City Centre and West Tower, said, “Since taking the helm as head of the kitchen here at Suites & Spa, I have enjoyed creating a whole new menu of dishes for our guests to enjoy. Not only does the menu include modern twists on classic customer favourites, we have also introduced a selection of totally new flavours for visitors old and new to enjoy.”

Howard added, “As part of my appointment here at the hotel, I have brought with me a wealth of experience from working in venues such as Pioneer Bar & Brasserie, located in Crosby. Already, we have welcomed extremely positive feedback from those who have dined with us and sampled our menu’s latest additions and we are looking forward to showcasing what we have to offer to new guests, especially throughout the upcoming festive season.”
