The Prince of Wales, a substantial and characterful village inn, in the Dartmoor village of Princetown, has been sold through Stonesmith.
The inn is a traditional moorland village inn with origins reputedly dating back to around 1860, occupying a prominent landmark position in the centre of the famous moorland village of Princetown.
Dartmoor Prison is located within the village, which has over the years has become one of the most visited tourist haunts in Devon. Princetown is completely surrounded by the rugged beauty of Dartmoor and attracts over 6 million visitors each year.
The Prince of Wales has all the necessary attributes for a successful business with a large character bar, separate restaurant/function room. There are also three ensuite bedrooms, an owners private apartment and a popular purpose created bunk house providing high quality budget/hostel type accommodation.
The business was bought by local business men, Jan Hayes and John Burbage, who commented, “We are delighted to be the new proprietors of The Prince. The pub will undergo a complete refurbishment with new menus and daily specials. We look forward to meeting customers old and new for good food and drinks”

The free of tie leasehold property was sold off an asking price of £99k.
