Pret launches protein-based salads

At Pret A Manger, new protein-based salads are launching in shops this winter alongside 12 soups, half of which are vegan.

Customers are increasingly looking for freshly prepared, high-protein lunch options. Following the success of Pret’s Protein Box, the company is adding to its range with the launch of the Smoked Salmon Protein Box and the Bang Bang Chicken Salad.

The Smoked Salmon Protein Box is a flavourful, high-protein salad that combines Scottish smoked salmon with free-range eggs, sliced avocado, edamame beans, spinach, a lemon wedge and green dressing. Each box is packed with 27g of protein per serving.

Pret’s Bang Bang Chicken Wrap launched last year and was an instant hit. This January, Pret is introducing a salad version bursting with vibrant flavours and colour. The salad combines chargrilled British chicken in a roasted sesame sauce with crunchy carrot & mooli slaw, pickled carrot & cabbage salad and edamame beans. Finished with sesame seeds, a sprinkling of chopped mint and Pret’s zingy green dressing. Contains 25g of protein per serving.

The range of hot soups includes six vegan-friendly flavours, all of which are under 250 calories, and to mark the return of Pret’s ‘souper’ menu, customers can now check the daily menu before they shop via an augmented-reality effect on their camera on the Facebook app.

Also, Pret is launching Matcha Latte, which is an antioxidant rich drink that uses 100% green tea leaves. Pret Baristas soften the tea’s earthy flavour by adding an organic Rice-Coconut milk alternative to make a sweet, creamy hot beverage.
