£2.69m Isle of Sheppey hotel for sale

Abbey Hotel, a modern hotel in Minster on Sea, situated on the north coast of Isle of Sheppey, has come to market via Christie & Co, with an asking price of £2.69m.

The purpose-built Abbey Hotel takes its name from the nearby Minster Abbey, which was founded 1,300 years ago by Queen Sexburga, the widow of Ercombert of Kent.

The ground floor comprises 50 ensuite bedrooms, a bar lounge and restaurant with seating for 70 covers. The first floor features a function room which can accommodate for up to 120 guests.

Owner’s accommodation is also provided on the first floor, which includes a lounge, kitchen and two bedrooms.

Set within over two acres of grounds, the property features a courtyard style garden and extensive grounds, as well as extensive parking.

The hotel is also ideally located just 400 yards from Leas Beach, providing the ideal base for holidaymakers, and Minster is well connected to nearby cities via major road routes and railway links for those looking to explore Kent and the South East coast.

Abbey Hotel is currently owned by the Odedra family, who acquired the hotel through Christie & Co approximately 10 years ago, during which time the hotel has enjoyed tremendous success, generating strong levels of trade and significant repeat business.

Andrew Moore, Director at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, said, “It is always a pleasure selling a hotel that was last bought through Christie & Co. The Abbey is the only purpose built hotel on the Isle of Sheppey and as such, it has a unique position in the market there, representing a solid investment for a new incoming owner.”
