Absolute Taste becomes catering partner for 149th Open


Absolute Taste has been appointed by The R&A as catering partner for the sold out 149th Open Championship at Royal St George’s Golf Club in Sandwich, Kent, on 16-19 July.

London-based Absolute Taste will deliver the event menus, utilising local, seasonal ingredients with the aim of creating a truly memorable food and beverage offering, placing The Open at the forefront of the sports hospitality sector.

Known as 'The One', The Open is the most international major championship with qualifying events across five continents. The Championship is also broadcast to 600 million households in almost 200 countries around the world.

Nigel Harris, Owner of Absolute Taste, said, “Being appointed as the caterer for such a historic, world-renowned event, provides us with an opportunity to forge the way for The Open to become globally recognised for its culinary offer.

“This partnership is a testament to our forward-thinking approach and aim to lead the way in food and beverage experiences and we are looking forward to bringing this to The Open.”

The new appointment spans the landmark 150th Open in 2021 that will be staged at St Andrews, the Home of Golf, which is set to be a historic Open complete with the finest hospitality offering befitting the world’s most prestigious golf Major.
