West Yorkshire care home sold to experienced operator

Radcliffe Residential Home in Mirfield, West Yorkshire has been sold through Christie & Co for an undisclosed price.

Radcliffe is a care home for the elderly in Mirfield, part of the Kirklees District of West Yorkshire. The Home provides long term care for up to 34 elderly residents and, at its last Care Quality Inspection, was rated ‘Good’. Set in its own grounds off Huddersfield Road in Mirfield, the Home is a converted and part purpose-built property offering an excellent standard of accommodation

The home was previously owned by Kevin Martin, who ran the business for over 20 years, and has been purchased by Radcliffe Care Home Ltd, part of Domain Care.

Speaking on behalf of the company, Director Shafayat Hussain, commented, “We are very pleased that Domain Care has acquired this wonderful care home to add to their portfolio.

'The care home has a longstanding tradition of providing quality care to the elderly in Kirklees. We aim to continue providing a high standard of care for the elderly at Radcliffe.

'We also look forward to working with the dynamic team of managers and carers who have maintained a high standard of service despite the difficult times everyone is currently facing.”

Jonathan Wickens, Director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said, “Despite these unprecedented times, we are still seeing activity across the care sector. The sale of Radcliffe Residential Home to established care operators shows there is long term confidence in the sector, and this is our third sale in North of England since lockdown at the beginning of April.

'Operators continue to show resilience and provide fantastic levels of service through dedicated staff, to our elderly and vulnerable sectors of the community. The committed and unwavering work carried out by these people has only recently come to the forefront, but it has been there for many years and will continue in the future.

'We wish the new providers and staff at Radcliffe continued success.”
