New lease avaiiable for much-loved Kent pub

The Honest Miller, a closed 16th century inn, located in the picturesque rural hamlet of Brook, which is near Wye in Ashford, is available on a new free-of-tie 20-year leasehold basis.

Prior to closing, the pub was a popular haunt amongst locals and this new lease represents an exciting opportunity to bring a new food and tourism offering to the area, which will serve the community and draw customers from further afield.

The property is currently undergoing a complete refurbishment whilst retaining its many character features, such as exposed beams, brickwork and open fireplaces, which help to create its warmth and charm.

Andrew Moore, Director in Christie & Co’s Hotel team, remarked, “This is a rare opportunity to take on a new free of tie lease with a private landlord, in a property that will be fully refurbished and ready for the new business partner to put their final stamp on it.

'Experience will be essential for the incoming operator, specifically a strong record of serving food, together with a willingness to create a new destination pub-restaurant and central social hub for the Brook community.

“The village has actively campaigned to save their much-loved local pub from permanent closure over the past two years and welcome the prospect of a new operator coming in to bring the venue back to life. We look forward to finding the right person for the job!”
