Tiffin Sandwiches has completed the acquisition of sandwich maker Love Bites, with financial details not disclosed.

Tiffin Sandwiches plans to “significantly” invest in the Love Bites facility, which features a 10,000 sq ft production site.

The focus will be on upgrading machinery and infrastructure at the Love Bites facility to improve production efficiency, while also emphasising environmentally friendly practices.

“The investment is designed to foster a culture of sustainability, aligning with our vision for responsible business practices,” the company said.

Since its founding in 1991 by Richard and Gill Smith, Love Bites has become one of the UK’s most established independent wholesale sandwich producers.

Tiffin has assured that all Love Bites employees will be retained, with founder Richard Smith staying on to support the business.

“We recognise the importance of retaining the dedicated staff at Love Bites and are committed to providing them with continued employment and growth opportunities within our organisation,” the statement from Tiffin read.

“Richard and Gill Smith have been instrumental in building Love Bites, and Richard will continue with the Tiffin business, offering his invaluable industry experience to guide our future success.

“The potential for growth and expansion in the coming years is significant, and we look forward to collaborating with the exceptional team at Love Bites. By integrating sustainable practices and focusing on community engagement, we are poised to elevate this local business while contributing positively to the Bradford economy.”
