In partnership with TRG Concessions (TRGC), Wafflemeister is launching its first-ever airport site at Heathrow Terminal 4.
Wafflemeister’s new venue offers Liége waffles topped with various options, plus a choice of gelato flavours.
The brand intends to expand further in the next two years. Established in 2009, Wafflemeister was created to provide “original great tasting waffles to everyone.”
As the UK’s leading wholesale waffle supplier, Wafflemeister sells over 50 million waffles a year through more than 10,000 venues across hospitality, contract catering, education, travel, and healthcare sectors. It also runs 24 direct sites nationwide, including Legoland, Alton Towers, Bluestone Resort, and Butlins.
The Heathrow menu will cater to all types of travellers, offering freshly baked pastries with optional Belgian chocolate dip, fruit pots, a new selection of handmade on-site toasties, as well as coffee and a full range of drinks.
This launch is in partnership with TRGC, the UK travel food and beverage arm of TRG, which operates Giraffe, Wagamama, and BrewDog at airports across the country, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Edinburgh, Birmingham, and Manchester.
Rikos Leong-Son, chief executive of Wafflemeister, said: “Opening our first site at Heathrow is a milestone moment for our brand. Heathrow is one of the world’s busiest international airports, and we’re proud to bring travellers a taste of our wonderful waffles, made with love as well as our full range of all-day products.
“Wafflemeister has always enjoyed a diverse range of customers, and we have always attracted customers from all over the world. So it always made sense to open in the place where they served the most travellers. Airports are traditionally known for their functional food range.
“We firmly believe that our range of treats can put a bit more fun back into travelling, and I couldn’t think of anything better than an indulgent treat before taking off on holiday or a sneaky grab and go. We have always been in the business of making smiles, and now we get a chance to add a smile to Heathrow.”
