Steven McGarvie will join cooking equipment manufacturer Unox UK as its new managing director on 7 January 2026.
He takes over from Scott Duncan, who stepped down after four years in the role to become managing director of Hobart UK.
McGarvie brings extensive experience in the foodservice equipment sector, most recently serving as UK sales and marketing director for display and hot-holding specialist Victor Manufacturing.
He joined Victor’s senior leadership team in 2020, overseeing contracts and projects nationwide. His earlier career includes roles as regional business manager at Foster Refrigeration, contracts manager during a previous tenure at Victor Manufacturing, and business manager at food and drink wholesaler Bidfood.
As managing director, McGarvie will head the Unox UK team, focusing on market growth and the management of sales, operations, marketing, and customer engagement.
McGarvie said: “Unox’s focus on new product development, quality, innovation and great customer service is genuinely impressive, and it’s clear the company invests just as much in its people as it does in its equipment. I’m looking forward to working with the team, building on what already makes us great, driving growth and continuing to deliver real value for our customers.”
Unox chief executive Nicola Michelon added: “Steven’s proven track-record, deep sector knowledge and strategic vision make him the ideal leader for Unox UK as we continue to strengthen our footprint and service offering in the UK market. We would like to take a moment to congratulate Steven on his appointment, and wish him luck in his new role, where we know he will thrive and continue to grow the business in one of our key markets.”
This follows a series of recent leadership changes at Unox, including the appointment of Marco Smania as director of sales for Western and Northern Europe.
Smania succeeds Matteo Ravagnan, who will transition into the managing director role at Unox’s newly acquired robotic food processor company, Roboqbo, completing the move in January 2026.
