The private equity firm supporting Big Table Group has acquired pub chain Amber Taverns for an undisclosed amount.
Epiris completed the deal through its Epiris Fund III, which also holds investments in the funeral services company Pure Cremation.
Amber Taverns, founded in 2005 by CEO James Baer, operates 178 freehold, wet-led pubs primarily located in the North of England, the Midlands, Scotland, and Wales.
The company has seen steady growth by providing customers with premium live sports coverage and entertainment options like live music.

The newly transformed venue features nine boutique bedrooms, an all-day dining area, a bar, a spacious roof terrace, and dedicated meeting and event spaces. RedCat Pub Company plans £8 million investment throughout its estate
RedCat Pub Company plans to invest £8 million across its portfolio in the next six to twelve months, following a £61 million refinancing agreement.
This announcement follows the pub group's decision, led by former Greene King CEO Rooney Anand, to appoint administrators for its RedCat Leased Pubs division—a subsidiary that encompasses ten leasehold pubs—back in March.
The company also placed 14 sites from its managed division on the market and currently operates a total of 102 sites within the group.

Urban Pubs & Bars announces opening of the Wren in tribute to Sir Christopher Wren
London pub and dining group, Urban Pubs & Bars, has unveiled the opening of The Wren Tavern, paying homage to Sir Christopher Wren. Located on Watling Street, this classic London pub also boasts a dedicated whiskey lounge and a speakeasy-style cocktail bar named 5cc in its basement.
The Wren Tavern is now open from Monday to Saturday, serving food and drinks from 11am to midnight, with extended hours until 1am on Thursdays and Fridays.

Admiral Taverns to acquire 18 pubs from Marston’s
Admiral Taverns has agreed to acquire 18 freehold pubs from Marston’s, continuing its expansion efforts.
The wet-led, community pubs are spread throughout the UK, including locations in Dorset, Derbyshire, and Yorkshire.
This acquisition will increase Admiral's total estate to over 1,420 pubs, following the group's purchase of 37 Fuller’s pubs for £18.3 million in May this year.

Fuller's reopens The Head of the River in Oxford
A pub located at Folly Bridge in Oxford has reopened after a significant refurbishment.
Situated along the banks of the Thames, The Head of the River, a Fuller's establishment, now boasts a riverside dining area, garden, and 19 boutique bedrooms.
As part of the refurbishment, The Head of the River is now fully electric, making it Fuller’s first fully electric hotel. The kitchen equipment and all other appliances in the pub and hotel are now powered entirely by electricity.
The bedrooms have all been refurbished.
