NEW ‘DOUGH’ DEAL FOR BEST FOOD LOGISTICS’ PRET WAREHOUSE AND DELIVERY WORKERS
Following negotiations between management and GMB members working for Best Foods (Pret A Manger), members accept a 6.6 per cent pay increase
GMB, the union for food delivery and warehouse staff reached an agreement on a pay raise for warehouse and delivery staff employed by Best Foods under its Pret A Manger contract. The offer was confirmed by a ballot of GMB members on 22nd December 2023.
The agreement includes the following terms and will benefit all those who work for Best.
Foods on a Pret a Manger contract as warehouse colleagues, drivers, or driver assistants:
• A 6.6% increase on base and allowances for warehouse colleagues
• A 6% increase on base and allowances for drivers and driver assistants
• An increase in overtime rate for drivers and driver assistants from 1.25 to 1.5 per cent.
The effective date of the pay rise will be 1st January 2024. The agreement also includes a commitment to begin next year’s pay discussions in October/November 2024.
Steve Garelick, GMB London Region Organiser said:
“This is a fair and reasonable deal for our members who work hard to deliver fresh and quality food to Pret A Manger and its customers.
This deal recognises their contribution and dedication and reflects the cost of living and current market rates.
“We are pleased that Pret A Manger and Best Foods have engaged constructively with GMB and listened to our members’ concerns.
We look forward to working with the company in the future to maintain good industrial relations and improve working conditions, including improving health and safety and staff attendance.
