JJ Foodservice has been awarded a two-year, £3 million-per-year contract with NEPO to supply over 300 sites across eight North East councils. This encompasses schools, nurseries, cafés, theatres, leisure centres, civic facilities, and care services.
Since the agreement began in July 2025, JJ Foodservice has been supplying a comprehensive range of frozen foods — from bakery products and desserts to poultry, fish, fruit, vegetables, and plant-based alternatives — helping to meet the catering requirements of communities throughout the North East and Tees Valley.
Carl Telford, professional services lead at NEPO, said: 'Local authorities need suppliers that deliver healthy, nutritious and affordable food while being easy and reliable to work with. We are delighted to work with JJ Foodservice, whose strong commitment to service will help us deliver quality, value and choice to the communities we serve.'
To fulfil the contract, JJ Foodservice has introduced over 100 new product lines and expanded its operations with additional drivers and night-shift staff.
This latest success follows a strong year for JJ Foodservice, marked by new local authority contracts. In early 2025, the group was awarded a £750,000 contract to provide frozen foods to Bolton Council, in addition to its ongoing grocery supply.
