Compleat Food Group appoints former Mars executive as general manager

Nick Reade has been appointed as the first UK managing director at Compleat Food Group in a newly created role.

Reade previously spent 11 years at FMCG giant Mars, where he served as general manager for the UK and Ireland.

In his new role, Reade will handle commercial strategy, bring together customer, product, marketing, and other functions, and report straight to CEO Nick Field.

“The growth of The Compleat Food Group since its inception in 2021 has been fantastic to observe, and the opportunity to be part of its continued success was hugely appealing,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to getting around the business and our customers to continue to innovate, drive standards and create delicious, tasty food.”

The appointment comes as the Group’s turnover surpassed £1.4bn and it completed several major acquisitions, including Real Yorkshire Pudding and chilled food company Freshpak.

Compleat Food Group recently bought Greencore’s sauces and soups business in Bristol, with CMA approval.

Field said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nick to the Group. He brings deep experience in UK FMCG, a track record of driving commercial performance, and a leadership style focused on clarity, accountability and empowering teams to do their best work.”
