Dim sum restaurant chain, Ping Pong has announced plans open a further 20 to 25 new restaurants in and outside of London over the next four years, as it prepares to open its ninth London restaurant.
Opening at Westfield Stratford shopping centre on 3 March, the site will become just the second Ping Pong to feature the group’s new layout. Over £500,000 has been spent on the restaurant to have a lighter and more contemporary feel, which will feature a cocktail bar dim sum counter and ‘tea bar’.
Ping Pong will then open a tenth venue later this year and the first outside of London in early 2015. All of the new sites will feature the new layout.
Chief executive, Art Sagiryan said, “Since we launched in 2005, customer expectations have changed and we need to reflect that. We’ll initially only apply the new design to new sites, but if existing venues become in need of a complete makeover then we’ll do so.”
Speaking of the expansion outside of London, Sagiryan also said that the group are looking at other cities which match current demographics for example Manchester, Bristol and Liverpool.
Ping Pong currently operates sites in Wembley’s Designer Outlet, Market Place, St Katharine Docks, Westbourne Grove, Bow Bells house, Soho, St Christopher’s Place and Southbank.
