Austrailian MasterChef finalist set to open Balls & Company in London


Australian chef Bonny Porter, a finalist in Australian MasterChef, is to open Balls & Company in London's Soho this month, serving up meatballs in Mauviel copper pans.

There is an upmarket angle to the humble sounding dish as ingredients include Wagyu beef, Confit salmon' and Quinoa, beetroot & feta. Sauces including Romesco with red pepper, almonds, hazelnuts & garlic.

Plus they will sell trios of sliders in brioche such as Wagyu, tomato jam, gruyere & pickles, Chicken with Sugo, ricotta bechamel & aubergine, and Pork with romesco, aioli & charred radicchio.

For sides there will be mac and cheese, fennel & fontina arancini, ceriac gratin, potato dauphinoise, chips, salads & more.

Desserts include Persian fairy floss topped brownie, and choux balls served with Purbeck ice-cream.

For drinks, there will be a small wine list, craft beers and jugs of sangria.

The restaurant itself will seat 30 on the main floor and 20 downstairs which will also have a basement bar.
