Centerplate creates new division


The matchday and event catering services company, Centerplate has introduced a new division, the Hospitality Solutions Group (HSG).

HSG brings together the teams responsible for facility design and construction, capital project planning, equipment procurement and strategic consulting, which are all areas that have undergone significant growth for Centerplate in recent years.

The company said that HSG was created to meet the growing needs of clients for 'a seamless, end-to-end strategy, design, build, and service delivery function'.

Eric Wooden, who has has been with Centerplate since 1989, has been appointed to the newly-created position of senior vice president, Hospitality Solutions.

For over 40 years, Centerplate has been catering at stadiums, arenas, racecourses, museums, visitor attractions and theatres. (Sir Michael Straker Cafe at Sage Gateshead, pictured.)

The group's Steven Beattie, the General Manager for Centerplate at Sunderland AFC’s Stadium of Light, has been recognised with the Cost Sector Catering’s 2015 Stadia/Events/Arena Caterer of the Year Award.
