Alton Towers has unveiled plans for a 74-bedroom hotel at its Staffordshire-based theme park, with the creation of 100 jobs.
The four-storey extension will be built next to the Alton Towers Hotel and Spa and will include 'colonial-style' family bedrooms, a 200-seat restaurant and cafe.
The latest plans come after the Enchanted Village boasting 120 lodges and eight tree houses opened earlier this year.
The theme park saw £47m wiped from its profits as visitor numbers plummeted in the wake of the rollercoaster accident.
Latest figures show Alton Towers generates around £43m income within the local economy and over £87m within the regional economy. It is directly and indirectly responsible for around 3,220 jobs in Staffordshire.
