Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club plans £8m grounds revamp

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club is to revamp the Trent Bridge cricket ground by 2017, in a bid to secure the largest and best international cricket matches.

The £8.1 plans, funded by loans from Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council, include renovations of the historic pavilion as well as the refurbishment of the William Clarke Stand and media facilities.

Alan Rhodes, leader of the Labour-run county council, said, 'Trent Bridge is a world class cricketing landmark which provides socio-economic benefits to the area and brought Nottinghamshire to the globe's attention when England secured the Ashes right here in our county.'
