TGI Fridays secures £3.5m Leicester Square site

TGI Fridays has secured a prime site in London's Leicester Square, which was vacated by Yates’s wine bar, and will open in November.

The new £3.5m restaurant will feature an open kitchen capable of serving up to 320 covers, 60 of which will be external covers.

The £3.5m restaurant is due to begin trading this November and will create 150 new jobs due to the scale of it.

The new acquisition will kick-start a period of expansion for the American-themed chain, which has seen business grow by 10% this year.

The 30-year old UK franchise is owned by Electra Partners after it acquired it last year, investing £99m of equity in the deal.
