Hampshire hotel goes on market for £2.5m

Headley Park hotel in Hampshire has been put on the market for offers in excess of £2.5m.

The property, which is set within an estate of 40 acres, was built between 1884 and 1891 and has been extended by various owners over the years.

The 24-bedroom hotel features a restaurant, bar, function room and staff accommodation. Adjacent to the property are various outbuildings, including a 3 bedroom cottage, changing block and a gardener’s cottage in the former walled garden.

Handling the sale, Paul Barrasford, director of hotels agency at Colliers International, said, “Due to the hotel sector not being our client’s principal business interest, the decision was taken to effectively close the business in early 2015.

“In this affluent corner of the south east, it is rare to find a vacant property as substantial as Headley Park Hotel available for sale. We anticipate the property will appeal to a broad range of buyers including those looking to reopen it as a hotel or redevelop it for, say, residential, educational or health care use.”
