New Taiwanese Bao bun restaurant opens in SE London


Taiwanese restaurant, Mr Bao has just opened its doors in Peckham offering Bao buns, the soft, pillowy buns that are wrapped around everything from pork belly to ice cream.

The buns include Mr Bao - a Slow Braised Flock + Herd Pork, Pickles, Peanut Powder & Coriander, and Bao Diddley - Pulled free range Chicken, Peanut Powder, Pickled Cabbage & Coriander. Sharing dishes also feature with Millionaire’s Bacon Ribs, Tea Smoked Duck, and XO Shrimp Dumplings.

At the weekend, a brunch menu serves up a bacon bao with maple syrup - along with some specialist aged teas flown in from Taiwan.

A lone dessert finishes the Taiwanese menu with Honeycomb Ice Cream, Fried Bao, Strawberry Sake Syrup & Popping Candy.

Dishes can be washed down with a range of Taiwanese beers and Taiwanese-inspired cocktails, like Jinzu gin, namazake, apricot brandy, passion fruit & fresh lavender.
