Second Bao restaurant to open in May

Following the success of Bao in London's Soho, a second restaurant is to open in Windmill Street, Fitzrovia this May.

The new venue has covers for 26 upstairs and more in the basement by the open kitchen.

There will be a new addition to the original Bao menu, a small plate section called Xiao Chi, which include Oysters with green chilli pickle, and Cured Ribcap, Pickles & Fermented Chilli Bean Dip.

New sharing dishes are also to unveiled at the new restaurant like Crab with rice broth, and Cuttlefish squid & sausage with XO.

The drinks menu has also been expanded and, along with the usual sakes and whiskies, it will feature six original cocktails like Headhunter - whisky, vermouth, benedictine, kummel, black pepper, and Izu Dancer - sake, umeshu, almond milk, rose water, orange peel.

There will also be milkshakes such as papaya, almond, toasted rice, banana and condensed milk.

The team behind Bao, Erchen Chang and siblings Shing and Wai Ting Chung, launched the first restaurant last April with 30-covers, and frequently has a queue outside.
