Tossed founder plans to expand portfolio by 200%

Vincent McKevitt, the man behind the Tossed salad bar chain, is aiming to open 48 new new sites over the next four years, following a recent £1.4m crowdfunding campaign, according to The Telegraph.

The first of the next wave of shops will be in Dubai’s Golden Mile shopping district this week, the third cafe in the country.

However, most of the new cafes will be opened on home soil and outside London, where the chain already has 13 of its 24 sites. McKevitt said that rents and staffing costs in the capital have peaked, and the lunchtime market is saturated.

With regards to the competition, McKevitt claims his rivals market their food as healthy, when it is actually organic and natural, rather than low-calorie.
