Greene King puts 90 pubs up for sale

Pub operator and brewer, Greene King has put 90 of its worst-performing pubs on the market, according to The Times.

The company is hoping to raise as much as £30m from the pubs, the majority of which are tenanted. The sale is part of the firm's plan to move towards food-led managed pubs, which are overall more profitable.

The sites will be sold off in small batches and not packaged together for one buyer, according to City sources.

Greene King currently operates over 3,000 pubs, restaurants and hotels across the UK, and employs around 44,000 staff.
