The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII), the leading professional body for the UK’s licensees, has announced the launch of its completely revised digital platform. This includes an innovative marketplace for members, alongside a new website, knowledge bank and CRM system.
The BII’s new website forms the gateway to the comprehensive knowledge bank and innovative BII Marketplace. The website has been rejuvenated to ensure it is easy to navigate and concise while also functional and optimised for use on mobile phones and tablets. Its tonality is engaging and conversational, while ably demonstrating the many benefits available to BII members through clearly labelled sections.
On visiting the website, each member will access a bespoke landing page, tailored geographically to reflect their location. A key feature of the new site is NextChef, a recipe management platform where chefs can share details, imagery and instructions for dishes, and sync with social media to connect with customers.
Further highlights include a jobs board so members can advertise the vacancies at their sites to others in the industry, access to CPL e-learning, competitions and event information. Members can also utilise the new BII knowledge bank to quickly access market intelligence and trend reports in one place.
But the crowning jewel in the new digital offering is the BII Marketplace. Launching with 35 partners across nine categories, including financial, legal, food and drink, catering equipment and supplies, entertainment, property and utilities, technology, e-learning and training, and pub professional services, members can visit the marketplace for exclusive deals and savings, and best in class service. Each supplier has their own company profile and specific offer, with members able to provide ratings after use.
Mike Clist, CEO of the BII, commented, “We have completed a comprehensive overhaul of our digital offering and are thrilled with the results. Working alongside our offline resources and advice lines, the new website provides our members with a vast range of content to help them grow and develop their business. They can manage their membership, access useful industry content, and even save money too. This, combined with the help we are giving our members on MRO means membership is invaluable – there’s never been a better time to join the BII!
“We are very keen for members to provide us with feedback on each aspect of our digital platform, as we intend to develop and grow it over the coming months, and further into the future. We see the growth of this very much as an organic process to create long term value for members.”
