Asda set to open major North Devon supermarket in November


Asda is to create up to 260 jobs at a new supermarket due to open in Barnstaple, North Devon, this November.

Contractors Simons Group started on the site in May for the new store at the Anchorwood Bank development.

The work consistsof a 79,000sq ft steel frame structure, with 40,000sq ft of shop floor that will include George, a deli and a cafeteria.

A petrol station will also be constructed on the site, as well as a car park for 350 vehicles.
