Uber adds more UK cities for UberEats launch

Following the launch of its food delivery app UberEats in London this year, game-changing taxi app Uber is now planning to expand into other UK cities, directly competing with Deliveroo.

Through adverts placed by the company for riders, it is now clear that the cities set for UberEats are Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds. Uber is also hiring a courier operations manager to work with drivers and restaurants.

The service, which was launched in the US last year, is currently available in central London from 11 am to 11 pm, seven days a week, and the company wants to expand the delivery areas by adding more restaurants.

Uber, recently valued at £50.5bn, is forecast to grow its food delivery service after success of its taxi app, which is downloaded by about 30,000 people a week in London.
