Mount Charles adds to senior team

The Belfast-headquartered services group, Mount Charles, has made nine appointments to key roles as it adjusts to continued growth.

The new recruits include: Ian Todd, Director of Finance & IT, Simon Toye, Group Development Chef, Janice Stewart, Group Manager, Leo McNamee, Regional Manager, Niall Donnelly, Key Account Manager, Nicola Looby, Operations Manager, Miriam Stevenson, Brand & Marketing Manager, Bryan Hill, Business Development Manager and David Phelan, Senior Bid Manager.

Managing Director Cathal Geoghegan said, “In the last five years we’ve created new divisions such as cleaning, security and outside event catering and beverage provision, seeing total employee numbers shoot up to around 2,000.

“In the last year alone we’ve won new contracts worth over £7m, so the deliberate strategy to grow the business through diversification has so far been successful.

“Not content to rest on our laurels however, the question over the past 12 months has been one of how best ensure future growth, and the answer for us was to complement our existing team with further talented professionals who together will drive the business forward.”

Last summer, Mount Charles – which reported a 2015 turnover of £28m - announced that it was investing £1.6m to purchase and renovate a new HQ in Belfast. Geoghegan described that move as a ‘game changer’ for the company.
