One of London’s top visitor attractions is raising the roof this summer, by hosting rooftop garden parties – on the Thames.
Leading restaurant cruise company, Bateaux London is offering its vessel, Harmony, for private hire for summer parties and social events.
And the entire roof deck – which is the largest open viewing deck on the Thames – will be decorated in an English garden theme, complete with grass, trees and outdoor furniture.
As partygoers enjoy a three-and-a-half-hour river cruise past iconic landmarks, such as the Houses of Parliament, the Globe and St Paul’s Cathedral, an acoustic band will provide live music and drinks will be served at an outside bar.
Event organisers will also be able to choose from a wide menu of canapés and bowl dishes, which will be cooked and served on board by Bateaux London’s team of chefs.
Bowl food options include dishes such as mac’n’cheese with rosemary and parmesan, pulled beef with sweet potato mash and hot smoked salmon with watercress, chilli, lime and beetroot.
While canapés choices may include delicacies such as ham hock and summer pea tart, shrimp blini and mini hot dogs with English mustard.
Gareth Brown, marketing manager for Bateaux London, said, “There’s nowhere else in London where partygoers can enjoy the surroundings of an English garden and the best views of some of the city’s most famous sights, all at the same time.
“As a party venue, Harmony, really does have the wow factor and there’s nothing to beat an evening of good food and wine as the sun sets over Big Ben.”
Along with offering private hire for social and corporate events Bateaux London – recently voted 88th in a list of 1370 things to do in London - runs scheduled lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and Sunday lunch cruises throughout the summer on Harmony and its sister vessel, Symphony.
Private hire of Harmony for a rooftop garden party starts at £120 per person, for a minimum of 100 guests, from May to the end of September.
The cruise timings can be tailored to suit and all cruises depart from Embankment Pier, Victoria Embankment, London.
