£295k revamped Co-op store opens

The Midcounties Co-operative Food has opened the doors to its newly extended and revamped store in Finchampstead, following a £295,000 investment.

The Food store on Finchampstead Road has increased its shop floor size by more than 20% to 2,377 sq.ft. and now stocks a wider range of chilled and fresh produce, which includes a selection of food and drink from 10 local suppliers including Willowbrook Farm and Box Steam Brewery. This is part of the Society’s ‘Best of our Counties’ range, which is made up of the finest quality products sourced from Berkshire and neighbouring counties.

The store, which includes a Post Office, is ideally located in the heart of the village for the local community to access, and as a result of the investment shoppers can now enjoy a new contemporary layout with a modern look.

It marks the Society’s latest investment in Berkshire, where it operates five food stores, and its commitment to providing the community with a wide range of services.

Nick Buck, manager at The Midcounties Co-operative Food in Finchampstead, said, “Providing great service and offering a wider choice to shoppers is at the heart of what we do, and our extended product ranges gives more options to customers whilst supporting local suppliers.

“We’re committed to investing in our local community and we’ve had great feedback already from customers and colleagues about the store’s premium new look and we’re looking forward to welcoming more shoppers into our new store.”
