Brewhouse & Kitchen opens Bournemouth site

Brewhouse & Kitchen has added to its nationwide portfolio of brewpubs with the launch of Brewhouse & Kitchen Bournemouth.

Just opened within the Bournemouth Triangle complex, the site joins Poole and Southbourne as the third in the conurbation. Boasting its own microbrewery, the site’s dedicated brewer will be responsible for producing a selection of the brewpub’s own beers to be available alongside an impressive list of the best craft beers sourced from across the world. A selection of dishes created using beer as a key ingredient forms part of a brand-new food menu.

With a dedicated brewer and microbrewery on site, the drinks list of quality craft beers is sure to please both ale connoisseurs and novices alike. Brewhouse & Kitchen Bournemouth’s own microbrewery will produce a range of 5 beers to be available throughout the year and an additional 8, seasonally-changing variations. The brewer’s choice tap, a brew totally unique to Bournemouth, will also be on offer.

In addition to the beers brewed on site, the drinks list boasts an additional 50 craft beers and ciders from breweries across the world.

A playful selection of ‘beertails’ will also feature on the menu, offering a beer-based twist on well-known mixes such as Largarita, a blend of blanco tequila, fresh lime, sugar and lager and Negroipa a mix of Campari, Antica Formula sweet vermouth and IPA.

With a passion to make craft beer as accessible as possible to everyone, Brewhouse & Kitchen Bournemouth offers two different academy experiences: a two hour ‘Beer Masterclass’ carried out by the resident beer expert and a day long ‘Brewery Experience Day’, run by the brewer.

The Beer Masterclass covers 8 different types of beer, exploring the flavour profiles and history of each, while the more intensive Brewery Experience Day provides an opportunity for customers to better understand how beer is brewed.

Every Thursday, Brewhouse & Kitchen Bournemouth will also host a ‘Meet the Brewer’ evening and a ‘Beer Challenge’ on the last Thursday of each month, during which blindfolded participants are invited to try three different beers and guess their style. If all three are sussed correctly, the winner will receive a free Brewhouse & Kitchen beer.

Designed by Executive Chef, Tom Bew, the new food menu has also launch across the group and will showcase the creative beer-based cookery for which the group is renowned in some of the dishes on the menu. Guests can opt for longstanding favourites such as IPA battered fish and chips as well as new inspired offerings including tortilla chips & beer dips.

Bew’s creative incorporation of beer across the menu is particularly evident in the group’s selection of burgers, each served in a sourdough beer bun and topped with homemade IPA cured pickle, a cask ale relish and a portion of fries tossed in a garlic and hop salt. A weekly Sunday lunch menu including 21 day aged Birchstead beef or whole beer can roast chicken for two to share is sure to make Brewhouse & Kitchen Bournemouth a firm family favourite.

Following one of the largest Brewhouse & Kitchen redevelopment projects to date, the listed building boasts a three-storey extension as well as the largest beer garden in Bournemouth town centre, where guests can book out purpose built beach huts, perfect for a summer evening or special occasion. A copper microbrewery is located on the ground floor with a large dining area and kitchen on the first, which will be brewing approximately 3 times per week.

CEO Kris Gumbrell said, “This new addition has been a long-term project in the making, but we’re very excited about opening in Bournemouth town centre. Our Brewpubs are all unique and offer a very special experience. There is a huge interest in craft and artisan brewing from the guest”.
