The Vurger Co launches crowdfunding campaign for first perm site

The Vurger Co, an artisan veggie burger company, has today launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for their first ever permanent site.

From market stall to festivals and pop up restaurants, co-founders Rachel Hugh and Neil Potts started The Vurger Co whilst on the lookout for fast, natural plant-based food after suffering from persistent health issues. Now, The Vurger Co is a revolution in fast food, using the very best of vegetables, seeds, nuts and legumes all combined to create the ultimate plant-based burger.

The crowd-funding campaign, via Crowd Cube, is asking for £180K that will fund their restaurant opening in early 2018. A range of rewards has been set up to encourage support including a thank you dinner with the co-founders, a private tasting event for up to 15 friends and even a chance to dine free for life!

In the months ahead, Hugh and Potts will be hosting a temporary pop-up in Bethnal Green, East London, giving burger fans the chance to try their dishes over the summer.

Available dishes will include The Classic (smoky black beans with peppers and corn topped with tomato, red onion and our house-made Vurger sauce), The Mexican (spiced jalapeno and pepper bean patty topped with hot salsa, chilli mayo and smashed avocado) and The Auburger (Chipotle smoky aubergine, red onion and chickpea patty topped with cumin mayo and pickled cabbage) with sides such as skin on chips, sweet potato chips, truffle mac n cheese and Vurger slaw.
