Pret A Manger set to open first site in Orpington

Cristina Jorge Ramirez and her team of 21 are getting ready to open the doors to Orpington’s first Pret A Manger shop this Thursday, 9 November.

The shop, located in Nugent, will feature internal and external seating areas for around 100 customers, free WIFI, and a filtered water tap where customers can hydrate for free.

Pret’s menu of sandwiches, baguettes, salads, snacks, hot food and sweet treats will be on offer and all fresh items will be made daily in the shops’ kitchen by the team. The Baristas, Oliver, Anna and Ellis, will be on hand to serve a range of organic teas, coffees and hot chocolates, alongside freshly made smoothies and frappes.

Jorge Ramirez has worked at Pret for 10 years, most recently managing the shop at 73 Russell Square. She said, “This is a really exciting new opening for us and we’re looking forward to getting to know our customers here at Nugent.'

Tina Powley, Centre Manager for Nugent, Orpington is also thrilled to welcome the new eatery, “Pret is a very welcome addition to the centre and we’re delighted to add another great food brand to the line-up. At the same time, we’re also pleased to add an extra 10 spaces to the car park to help visitors park quickly and easily”.

Juanita Cracchiolo, Pret Foundation Trust Project Manager, explained, “As part of Pret’s commitment to help alleviate the pressures of homelessness in the UK, our shop is very proud to be partnering with St Christopher Church, where we will be donating unsold food at the end of each day.

“We are looking for more local charities to support through food donations each night and would love to be contacted by any organisations who feel they could benefit from collecting fresh, unsold food from us in the evenings.”
