Pret celebrated ‘Christmas Sandwich Eve’ last night by delivering the first batch of Christmas sandwiches to three of its longest-standing homeless charity partners.
Pret’s chefs stayed in the kitchen late last night putting the finishing touches on the famous Christmas Sandwich recipe. The team made a fresh batch of 180 sandwiches and delivered them with unsold food from nearby Pret shops to three of the company’s longest-standing charity partners; The Passage, Olallo House / Saint John of God Hospitaller Services / Poor Servants of the Mother of God Partnership, and Glass Door.
The charities received this year’s very first batch of the Christmas Lunch Sandwich – a classic recipe of thick slices of British free-range turkey breast, crumbly pork stuffing, crispy onions, fresh spinach and port and orange cranberry sauce; and also, the Veggie Christmas Lunch Sandwich, which combines chunks of roasted butternut squash, nutty Christmas pesto and peppery rocket served with a spoonful of yoghurt & mayo dressing.
“We love seeing how much joy the return of our Christmas menu brings to customers each year, and it’s no different for our charity partners and their clients,” stated Nicki Fisher, Head of the Pret Foundation Trust.
“This year, we wanted to celebrate with a few charities we’ve been supporting for many years. It was fantastic to be able to give their clients the first taste of our Christmas sandwiches, and they certainly seemed to hit the spot!”

Pret’s Christmas menu launched nationwide today and all three Christmas sandwiches will carry a donation of 50p towards the Pret Foundation Trust to continue its work helping to alleviate homelessness.
The classic Christmas Lunch and Veggie Christmas Lunch sandwiches are joined by a new Very Merry Christmas Lunch, Pret’s first ever vegan Christmas sandwich. Pret’s chefs have created a special vegan stuffing that is combined with grilled carrots, crispy onion, caramelised pecans, spinach and a Port & orange cranberry sauce.

This award-winning vegetarian sandwich combines chunks of roasted butternut squash, nutty Christmas pesto and peppery rocket served with a spoonful of yoghurt & mayo dressing and a sprinkling of crispy onions on granary bread.
