Lidl provides Scottish suppliers with £600k boost ahead of Burns Night


With the tradition of celebrating the Bard’s birthday on 25 January the first landmark event in the Scottish calendar, Lidl is to stock over 20 products across all of its 94 Scottish stores for the event. Suppliers for the event include We Hae Meat, Simon Howie, Halls of Scotland and Strathmore Foods.

With the growing trend for a 'Burn’s Celebration' spreading further afield, the company have announced that its Donald & Son haggis will be one of seven Scottish products sold in all 690 stores across Scotland, England and Wales, providing Scottish suppliers with a platform to showcase their produce beyond Scotland. The combined deal is worth £600k.

The custom of celebrating The Bard’s birthday on 25 January with a serving of classic ingredients, including haggis, neeps, and tatties, washed down with whisky, has been practised up and down the country for many years, with demand for the traditional products increasing.

The range of great value and quality food and drink includes: Donald & Sons Haggis,, Scottish Swede, Scottish Potatoes, Ben Bracken Single Malt Whisky - Islay, Speyside or Highland (pictured), Belheather Scotch Whisky beer.
