Chopstix Group welcomes new Finance Director

The Chopstix Group, owners and operators of premium quick service brands Chopstix and Yangtze, has today announced that Michael Toon has been appointed to the role of Finance Director with immediate effect.

Bringing with him extensive hospitality sector experience, Toon joins from the Casual Dining Group where he held a similar role, overseeing a number of brands including Café Rouge and Belgo.

Toon’s appointment is the latest in a series of senior management posts to be filled, following the appointment of Rob Burns as Marketing Director, and more recently Jon Lake as Managing Director. Max Hilton Jenvey was also recently promoted to the newly created role of Global Head of Franchise.

Chopstix Group Managing Director, Jon Lake noted, “Michael brings expertise, experience and a proven track record in delivering value and now, as we gear for ongoing expansion both in the UK and overseas, his skillset will be invaluable to the business. We are therefore delighted that he has joined us at what is, a very exciting time for the Chopstix Group.”

Michael Toon added, “The Chopstix Group is fast becoming a real force within the market, and their ambition, not to mention opportunity for growth knows no bounds. I’m delighted to join the team, as the Group moves forward with its ambitious but achievable expansion strategy, both nationally and internationally.”

The Chopstix Group was founded by Sam Elia and Menashe Sadik in 2001, however in the past 2 years, the group’s outlet count has more than tripled and stands currently at 84 units - Chopstix 75 and Yangtze 9.
