Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery chain to serve up bookish breakfast

This year, in celebration of World Book Day, Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery restaurants across the UK are gearing up to welcome their share of Willy Wonka’s, Fantastic Mr Fox’s and Gruffalo’s through the doors.

In the run up to World Book Day, the family-style restaurant chain, which offers a combination of roasted carvery meats and fresh dough pizzas, are appealing to the local community to donate their unwanted books, ready for a community bookish breakfast on Saturday 3 March. All proceeds will be donated to the NSPCC children’s charity.

Selected restaurants will also have a pop-up book corner, where guests can go and choose a book to give to their children during their visit.

Started in 1997, World Book Day aims to bring together children of all ages to explore the pleasures of reading and provide opportunities for them to have a book of their own. From Harry Potter to Tracey Beaker, World Book Day encourages children to dress up as their favourite characters and discover new books.

Hayley Willetts, assistant marketing manager of Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery restaurants, said, “We’re excited to have all our family friendly restaurants involved with our World Book Day celebrations, and we’re looking forward to seeing all of the colourful characters walk through our doors for our bookish breakfast.

“Having the chance to support the NSPCC at the same time as encouraging children and adults to discover, or rediscover, the joys of reading is amazing. We hope that everyone, including the adults, are getting their costumes ready!”

Mitchells & Butlers operates over 90 Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery restaurants across the UK.
