Camerons Brewery reveals £300k plans for Blue Lounge Scarborough

Camerons Brewery has begun work to refurbish and rebrand one of the venues in its managed pub group.

The Blue Lounge, which is located in the centre of Scarborough on St. Nicholas Street, will be reopened on Thursday 10th May with the new venue being named Sanctuary. Work begins at the site Tuesday 10th April.

Camerons will be investing over £300k into the redevelopment of the former Blue Lounge site. Sanctuary will have an eclectic range of lagers, beers and ciders and will include 4 cask ales as well as 2 rotating craft keg beer lines. In addition, the venue will offer an extensive range of premium wines and spirits plus an exciting new cocktail menu developed by Camerons' own mixologist.

Sanctuary will serve food daily between 11am - 8pm and will include a range of classic pub dishes and international cuisine.

A mixture of live music, quizzes and DJ’s will form a key part of the weekly entertainment at the venue. Sanctuary will also feature a separate function area to cater for special events or business meetings.

Jim Bentley, retail managed house director, said, “We are really excited to be investing into our Scarborough venue. The Blue Lounge has been a key venue in our pub group and we felt the time was right to revamp the look and offer at the site.”

“Sanctuary will offer customers a great food and drinks range during the day and will transform into a late-night bar in the evening serving a selection of signature cocktails as well as premium beers, wines and spirits” Jim continued.
