Deliveroo launches £4.99 daily lunchtime service

Today Deliveroo has launched ‘Flash Deals’, a new offering for hungry Londoners who are fed up of mundane midday meals.

Every day a different dish, carefully selected by Deliveroo in conjunction with its exclusive restaurant partners, will see its price dropped and available on the app for £4.99 with no delivery fee.

The daily Flash Deal, available only on pre-order, will come from a different restaurant each week and will be targeted at office blocks and workplaces across central London.

Flash Deals works exactly the same as Deliveroo’s core service, however to get lunch for under a fiver (including delivery!) customers simply place their order anytime before 11am, choosing their preferred delivery slot between 12-3pm.

The new offering follows a Deliveroo consumer poll* revealing that 70% of British workers are stuck in a rut when it comes to their office lunch. An astonishing third of Brits confess to eating exactly the same thing day after day, confining themselves to just three meals that they rotate.

The four most common lunches are all sandwiches, with the ham taking the crown as the most common British lunch.

Deliveroo Restaurant partners taking part in Flash Deals include Tommi’s Burger Joint, Thai Express, Jamie’s Italian and Squirrel, all offering amazing savings on their popular dishes.

The new Flash Deals service will enable restaurants to bolster orders, serve larger audiences and streamline their in-house operations by prepping food before the lunch rush hour. Additional restaurants involved include Patara, Honi Poke, DF Mexico, Hummus Bros, Benito's Hat, Princi and Zia Lucia.

Dan Warne, UK Managing Director at Deliveroo, said, “The Deliveroo Flash Deals service brings Londoners new tastes and restaurants at really amazing prices. It’s never been easier to mix up your lunch, avoid that lunchtime rut of eating the same sandwich everyday and spend less than a fiver in the process.

'Our new Flash Deals trial lets restaurants increase operational efficiency, acquire new customers and build their brand through Deliveroo”.

Hannah Kennedy, Marketing Manager at DF Mexico, said, “This is a really cool opportunity to let more Londoners try our tacos and for us to make the most of lunchtime!”
