North Lakes Hotel & Spa has been named best in the region in the Cumbria Tourism Awards, winning the Large Hotel of the Year accolade.
It tops off an incredible year so far for the Penrith based business, which has recently opened its new restaurant, FYR, and its next generation gym.
General Manager Antony Penny said, “We are thrilled – the Lake District has so many amazing places to stay so we know there was tough competition. To be named best in class is a fantastic achievement and we are really delighted.
“We’ve gone through a lot of change this year – the hotel will be unrecognisable to many people because the restaurant, bar, new bedrooms, gym and even the outside have been completely refreshed.
'We’ve completely captured the spirit of our fantastic local area in our new look and we are getting great feedback – anyone who hasn’t visited us recently should really come and have a look at the transformation, it’s remarkable.'
